Mixed Martial Arts at the Training station
consists of training in several categories, Kickboxing, Grappling, clinch and
Thai work, and conditioning classes geared to strength and explosiveness for
the Ring or Cage. Anyone can train in our program but only the elite will make
the fight team. Team Captain Brandon Cyr has a current record of 4-1 and was
named #1 amateur 170lbr in New England before turning Pro this year. Team
Coach Terry Dow has nearly 30 years of martial arts experience, Master rank
under Legend Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, and has competed in two World
championships in Karate and Kick Boxing.
The Category's are broken into:
Kick
Boxing / clinch work - Basics of striking
kicking and clinching are focused on, with Drills on focus mitt's, heavy bag's,
and partners. As the Athlete progresses we move on to live sparring and more
intense sparring when competition time approaches.
Grappling: Grappling is a blend of Ju Jitsu and two styles
of Catch Wrestling as well as collegiate wrestling. Take down's and throws
are covered in this class as well. Grappling is instructed By Jeff
Littlefield, Troy Pickering (seacoast MMA) and Brandon Cyr.
Conditioning: a combination of work outs, from classes with
our fitness Guru Christina Davidson, to circuits in the gym, plyo, agility
training, Kettle Bell's, Heavy Rope work... the list goes on. Athletes
work to muscle failure to assure they have the conditioning to last as many
rounds as needed in the ring or cage.
We have many special guest instructors that come
through our Gym on a regular basis; UFC
veteran Tony "the Freak" Fryklund, Danny Dring, Bill
"Superfoot" Wallace, Jason Delucia, Michael DePasquale Jr
Just to name a few!
Our facility has a boxing ring, padded MMA wall,
strength and conditioning gym and showers.
